Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 27, 2022 – Total Management Systems (TMS) announces the first recipient of the TMS Sponsorship Program totaling to $1,000. The sponsorship recipient is Leslie Otero who will be attending New Mexico State University for bachelor’s degree in agriculture extension and education.
Get to know the first recipient of TMS Sponsorship Program
Leslie Otero, 17, is currently attending Belen High School. She is the president of two youth organizations, Belen Future Farmers of America (FFA) and NMSU Valencia County 4-H, which provides positive youth development through various programs, activities, clubs, school enrichment and special interest projects. Her most recent achievement was in September 2022 when she won Showmanship at the New Mexico State Fair, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Market Meat Goat at the Southern New Mexico State Fair in 2022. Leslie also attended shows from Eastern New Mexico State and National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado.
Growing up from a family with a strong agricultural background, Leslie started her passion for agriculture at the age of 5. She shared with us how she spends time in the barn with her goats, her horse named Turbo, and finds it very fulfilling every time she gets to spend time in the barn or in an arena
“Receiving this sponsorship means a lot to help me purchase and save money for college. I believe it is very important to support future generations as we are the next wave of contributing members of society. I am very thankful to TMS, to my parents, Jennifer and Elmer, Diego my little brother, my grand parents Ruben and Cathy, and my whole family. Without them in my life, I won’t be able to be as successful in this show world.” Leslie Otero said.
When asked what her favorite quote is, she said “What’s done easily isn’t done right and what’s done right isn’t easy.
Total Management Systems Sponsorship Program is a collaboration between select hotels under our managed portfolio.
